Telica volcano, Nicaragua

Telica is an active volcano crater, located in “Volcán Telica Rota
Natural Reserve” in northeast Nicaragua (about 15 kilometers north of León), Telica is a conical volcano (built by many layers). It Telica municipality, in the León department of Nicaragua. Telica is one of Nicaragua’s most active volcanoes and has erupted many times in the past (thus preventing plants from covering it’s slopes). The neighboring small town of San Jacinto is probably the best place to start the hike up the volcano, this small town is also known for it’s steaming hot mud pits  and  it’s tiny Geothermal power plant.
